Description:
A need a Full-time Health Information Management Clerk (Medical Records Clerk).
This position is responsible for assuring that data is maintained to meet the requirements of Amaka Passion and all regulatory bodies. Ensures HIPAA requirements and standards of practice within the medical record process and procedures. Data maintenance includes scanning of all loose documents, filing as needed in the maintenance of a chart back of necessary hard copy documents for regulatory purposes, storage of hard copy charts, handling of documents received and requested for patient care, requesting of medical records, and maintaining and monitoring of the IDT reassessment process at their assigned center.
Is also responsible for the initiation, circulation, and maintenance of client medical records. Follows the quality assurance policy and procedure on all scanned documents. Performs data entry on computer, typing, filing, scanning, e-faxing, circulation, and telephone work associated with this function.
Requirements include: High School Diploma or equivalent, Knowledge of HIPAA and Office equipment, 2+ years experience in an office setting with prior training in Health Information/Medical Record functions preferred. Other requirements include: Medical Terminology and working computer literacy including Excel.
