Description:

Amaka Passion is looking for a part-time medical assistant to join our services. This position is 20 hours per week.

Job Summary:

The Medical Assistant is responsible for assisting in the preparation and examination of client records.  Appropriately and professionally, assist clients and family in reminders and follow-ups appointments. Assist with front desk duties when necessary. The MA is responsible for maintaining the clinical inventories for the agency under the direction and guidance of the Administrator.

 

Job Functions:

  • Interview clients, measure vital signs (i.e. pulse rate, temperature, blood pressure, weight, and height), and document in Electronic Health Record.

  • Review any necessary records as may be necessary for determining the level of care. 

  • Answer telephone calls promptly and courteously and relays all messages accurately.

  • Follow up on voice mail messages each morning and triage messages before administrators and caregivers take action.

     

Job Requirements:

  • Medical Assistant Certification required w/in 90 days of hire

  • BLS cert within 90 days of hire 

  • High School Diploma Required

  • At least one (1) year of previous Medical Assistant experience in a Physician's office.

  • Medical terminology knowledge preferred

  • Experience with Electronic Health/Medical record preferred
