• Position:

• Amaka Passion has a Part-time Transporter position available.  Under the direct supervision of the Lead Transporter, and/or Dispatcher, performs duties necessary to and involving transportation of clients to and to and from all nursing areas, diagnostic/therapeutic services, and various patient areas.  Performs miscellaneous duties securing and delivering reports, supplies, and equipment to and from various services and supply areas. 

• Each part-time member will work their benefited hours with rotating weekends and holidays. 

 

Requirements: 

High school graduate or equivalent.  American Heart CPR certified.  Ability to walk without assistance, ability to lift clients, ability to work with people effectively, ability to follow oral and written instructions.

 

Job Description Details:

• Assists in providing patient/comfort, privacy, and confidentiality
• Demonstrates good judgment in selecting the proper mode of “transportation”.

 

Maintains Patient Safety in Preparation For Transport To Ancillary Areas As Well As Upon Return To Unit
• Position client properly taking into account client impairment, skin conditions, pain, size, age, etc.
• Able to perform CPR and emergency measures
• Follows any client safety alerts, especially fall precautions
• Properly completes a handoff communication with every transport including alerting receiving staff/provider

 

Demonstrates Proper Infection Control Practices and Precautions in All Patient Care Activities
• Cleans client contact surfaces with disinfecting agent between all transports and maintain an adequate supply of cleaning agents

Use of Equipment According To Manufacturer's Guidelines
• Respond promptly and courteously to internal communication and directions, keeping equipment in working order each shift; return the equipment at the completion of each shift
• Maintains an adequate portable O2 supply
• Inspects and reports safety hazards and broken transport devices for repair
